Thomas Cole
The artist of this oil painting is Thomas Cole, this work of his is titled "lake with dead trees" and the setting of the work is a lake in the mountains, with as described, dead trees. the artist uses space value and color very well to create exquisite detail and a sense to the viewer that they are looking at a picture. I personally really love this painting, as it shows the beauty of nature as well as the darknesses of it.
Claude Monet
This is an image of Claude Monet's oil on canvas painting titled "sunflowers" from 1881. the setting in the work is a vase holding sunflowers on a small round table. The painting sets a very dark mood but the bright yellow color in the sunflower balance out the dark creating a very neutral feeling painting. I really like this this painting because of that, you can really focus on the details and really see the flowers for what they are.
Paul Cézanne
This Oil painting titled "pyramid of skulls" by Paul Cézanne uses color and shape to set a very dark theme to his painting. The color he chooses to use are very dark and bland, almost brown. The shapes he uses create the visuals of three skulls stacked atop each other but the skulls appear to be deformed and creepy adding to the dark feel and mood.
